Note on Full Cover / First Loss – If you live in an apartment you are probably a member of a community and the community will insure the main shell of the building and other community property such as lifts, stairs, car parks etc. You are however responsible for interior fixtures and fittings such as bathroom fittings, fitted wardrobes, decorations, interior water pipes & electricity cables, floor tiles etc which are not owned by the community. In such circumstances it is possible to insure on a “First Loss” basis where your insurance will cover repairs up to an amount specified without reference to the “average clause” which relates to under insurance.
