Every motor policy contains a European motor accident report form. This should be completed at the scene of the accident. It is intended as a friendly agreement between the drivers as to the circumstances of the accident. It is not an admission of liability it is simply a way of identifying the facts. Which vehicle was where at the time of the impact? What was each vehicle doing prior to the impact? Turning left? Parked? Traveling in a straight line? etc.
Once agreed and completed, both drivers should sign the bottom of the page. The pages are self-carbonated and one copy should be retained by each driver and forwarded on to their insurance company.
If you have comprehensive insurance and wish to make a claim on your own policy, or if you only have third party insurance but consider the other party at fault, and wish to claim on their policy, via the legal protection element of your policy. You need to advise us of the garage details where you want the vehicle repaired. Arrangements will then be made to have your vehicle inspected and assessed at the garage of your choice.
The accident report form can also be adapted and used for none accidental damage claims such as damage caused by flooding or fire damage.

All motor thefts should be reported immediately to the police and a copy of the police report sent to us as soon as possible. We also require the completion of a claim form (see link below) and other documents listed on the form depending on circumstances. You will also have to provide all of the car keys. |
Most repairs can be done by “Carglass” (Autoglass in UK ). They have many depots not only in Spain but also throughout Europe .
Their telephone number is included in your policy document. If Carglass are not used there may be a small excess to pay, refer to your policy document.
